Also my eldest showing interest, so would be better for him to start with car engine we think. Maybe possible for us to share in novice road going class and still be suitable to use for trackdays.

Its plenty quick enough for me at moment and Just happy to be out driving again.
So with this in mind, ive started to lighten the car. Aim is to get it down to 500, but only doing work I think will benefit later winter plans. Not weighed everything yet, but will add saving when done.
Starting at the front - also going to tidy it up.
took out old fan and brakets that didnt really work anyway, and replacing with lightweigh. saves 1kg Replaced headlights. gone from 5 3/4 to 4. Saves 1.2kg Cut down headlamp brackets and removed excess 400g
replaced winkers 800g Removed nose grill and replaced with race mesh 945g Replaced air horn with bike horn 600g
Replaced front spring to shorter. 430g Replaced hubs with alloy units 4kg m16 for willy's 6kg replaced discs with lightened 245mm grooved and drilled. 2kg switched from green stuff to 1144's, personal preference. tidied up wiring removing all pointless. changed from drag link to rose. changed to rose joint on steering with rs2000 alloy extensions. Changed front to comp wheel nuts, saving 300g at front end Think thats it for now. Know its abit odd adding weight etc, but also for my own benefit/records.

Also started work on the blade last night. Removed fuel line to primary injectors. turned t/b's 180 degree. removed pairs ready to cap. Cut Air box ready for ab mod.
Time to move on. Changes at home and work have left virtually no weekends free, at least for next few years. Didn't see point in keeping and storing with a view of maybe being able to compete. So she's gone to a new home. Bright side - back to two wheels.

Not bad times, just chose to increase my working week from four days to five. Also, My wife was offered a job out of the blue. Shes never worked before and don't think she planned to, but decided to take it. Just means we only get one weekend free a month together and want that as family time. Still looking for bike.....
